He was seen in more than one occasion laughing once he successfully gained what he wanted and is particularly ferocious in killing people, and he was once seen spitting over the body of a person he killed. He will work for anyone who will give him the needed money and will be ready to fight even the Army to pursue his goals. Claude may also bear some resemblance to Elvis Presley, as when he walks into the Elvis impersonators in the game, they will occasionally shout, "Hey man, it's the King!" and "I told you he was alive!"Ĭlaude Speed is an extremely rude character and apparently has no regret of the crimes he accomplishes. The movie version, however, was also depicted speaking and displaying an array of emotions, a characteristic not seen in either the GTA III or the GTA San Andreas versions.

The movie's version of Claude shares a few physical appearances with the Claude in the GTA III Era games, including his black jacket (made of cloth in GTA 2 and leather in GTA III, GTA San Andreas), t-shirt (white color in GTA 2 and black in GTA III, GTA San Andreas), long pants (black color in GTA 2 and dark khaki in GTA III, GTA San Andreas) and slicked hair. In the movie, Claude is seen performing jobs for several crime bosses, before being shot to death by an assassin sent by the Zaibatsu Corporation, whose van and merchandise were previously stolen by Claude. You should give it a shot if you haven't already.Little history is known about the character from GTA 2 however, DMA Design had previously released a promotional movie for the game, which was also compiled into the opening cinematic of the game, depicting a live-action rendition of Claude Speed committing several criminal acts, similar in all Grand Theft Auto games. The aiming is a little wonky on consoles, but what can you do, this is 2001, remember? There are no worries here, I shouldn't have to explain why. Profanity is used mostly in the radio stations. There is an abundance of blood, although there is no gore or gibs, unless you count the blowing off limbs as gore. If you do kill them, you will hear a bone crunch sound, although it's very tame compared to other bone crunch sounds I've heard in my lifetime. When you run over pedestrians, they won't die at first unless you're going really fast. In the PC version, you can shoot limbs off, but the graphics are old, which makes it look more hilarious than gruesome.Īs for consoles, you can enable shooting limbs with a cheat code. Some wounds from certain events I won't mention. In the Australian version, this is completely removed from the game. When the prostitute gets out, you can kill them to get your money. However, this is heavily tame as the car just bumps and that's it. You can pick up prostitutes and have sex with them for money. You do the early missions at a sex club, but you never actually go in. There is some sexy stuff, but no actual nudity or sex. This game does show its age, but it's a masterpiece when it works. The PC version is a mess of a port, but you can mod the 1.0 version. Pick up the PS2 version if you want an authentic experience, or get the Xbox version if you want better visuals. If you're not into modding, the console versions are the best.
